Start your NBA 2K27 season

NBA 2K27 came out on September 4, 2026, and OVRWire is built for the NBA 2K27 5v5 box score. This guide is for a commissioner starting a 2K27 league, or the next season of a league already on OVRWire: what to settle first, the setup steps and where each one is explained.

Who can play each other

Crossplay decides who can play together, so settle it before you make a schedule:

• PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players can play together.
• PC players on Steam and on Xbox for Windows PC can play together.
• Console and PC players can't play together, and Nintendo Switch 2 isn't part of crossplay.
• There's no PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version.
• Everyone needs a 2K account and an internet connection. Console players also need their console's paid online subscription.

These are 2K's rules, from its NBA 2K27 FAQ. If your players are split between console and PC, pick one for your league, or run a separate league for each.

Set up a new league

Setup is free and private: nothing is public until you go live.

1. Start your league. Under How do teams form?, choose Teams bring their rosters for pre-made rosters, or Draft.
2. Add your teams in Front Office → Teams & players, with their players if they bring their rosters. Import teams takes a whole list from a spreadsheet: see Import teams and rosters.
3. Open Front Office → Invites and send each team's captain link to the person who should claim that team. The captain then shares the team's player link.
4. Open Front Office → Discord, choose Add OVRWire to my server and approve it in Discord.
5. When your teams are set, open Front Office → Schedule, preview the matchups, then choose Publish schedule. A draft league's games start after its draft.

A league you already run

Once your current season has its champion, open Front Office → More and choose the next season's row, such as Start Season 2. You choose what carries over, and a Seasonal league can switch to a draft under How do teams form?. Finished seasons keep their games, standings and stats. See End the season and start the next.

Box scores

After each game, a player posts the box-score screenshot in your league's Discord. Console screenshots read best: the GAME STATS screen, with both TOTAL rows and the scoreboard in view. OVRWire reads it and checks the math, then the poster checks the numbers. On a busy day a read can wait: the screenshot is saved, and OVRWire reads it after the daily reset. Draft night

Captains in a draft league pick from their phones in the draft room, and Draft TV is the big-screen view for a TV or a stream. Practice drafts are free, for up to 2 rounds: in Draft setup, choose Run a free practice draft. To see the room before you set anything up, try a draft: re-draft SCSL Season 1 against its real teams, and nothing counts. In a draft league, the live draft comes with going live, so you pay before draft night. See Run a draft.

What it costs

Setup is free. Going live costs $20 per league-season, tax included, with no per-team fees. It isn't a subscription: nothing renews by itself. One $20 covers 12 weeks of regular season for NBA 2K27, starting the day you go live or with your first counted game if none has counted yet, plus 2 extra weeks to finish games. With pre-made rosters, your first 3 games count in private before you pay.

Switching from another site? Your first season is $15 instead of $20. Check "We're switching from another site" before it goes live. Once per league.

Bring your history

History imports are free and only add records to your league: they never overwrite its own seasons. Open Front Office → More → Import past seasons and fill in the CSV template, one row per player per game. Keep each season in one file of up to 1,000 rows and under 1 MB, and choose Preview CSV to check it before you confirm. Imported seasons are public and labeled Imported. See Import past seasons.
